A Lifeline on Wheels: Wallace Subaru's Impact on Crossroads Medical Mission - Erin F.
Our partnership with Wallace Subaru is a powerful testament to the impact of community support. Through the "Share the Love" campaign, you've not only provided essential funding but also a lifeline in the form of our Subaru Ascent, "Kit Cat." This vehicle, purchased with your help two years ago, has continued to prove its worth in the most challenging of circumstances. For over two months, our main mobile clinic, "Big Cat," was sidelined for major repairs. During this time, Kit Cat became the backbone of our operations. That baby hauls all of the supplies we need and in comfort to boot! This ensured that we could continue our work without skipping a beat, proving that our mission is never on hold. We are profoundly grateful for your deep generosity and collaboration. Your support helps us deliver on our mission every single day.
Wallace Subaru of Bristol & Regional Cancer Center - Siedah R.

The partnership has involved delivering blankets, patient care kits, and messages of hope to cancer patients. On June 27, Wallace Subaru of Bristol personally delivered these items to patients in treatment.
Wallace Subaru of Bristol Teams Up to Support Local Community - Nate R.
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Bristol, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Wallace Subaru of Bristol is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Wallace Subaru of Bristol have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. Wallace Subaru of Bristol helps community celebrate Earth Day - mike S.
Earth Day probably slipped past without notice to many recently, but not the good folks at Wallace Subaru of Bristol. They partnered with Subaru America to help many in our community observe the day in a special way. They donated 150 mature 2 to 3 foot mature trees to residents of the area to be planted. It's just one of many things Wallace Subaru of Bristol does for the community every year, from donating warm clothes to kids in the winter to raising money to be donated to non-profits, the folks at Wallace understand the importance of community. A huge thank you goes out to them for all they do!
Coats for Boy & Girls Club - Tara R.
Mike and his team brought coats to the kids at our club in Bristol, VA. They setup and brought the kids in to select the color they wanted and fit them with new winter coats. The kids were so excited when leaving the gym area to show off the new coats that they had chosen. They modeled them for parents and staff. With the cold days we’ve been having the past few weeks it is a pleasure to see them wearing these new coats daily. Thanks again to Mike and Subarufor the donations from the Subaru Loves to Help Prgram.
Boys & Girls Club - Emily O.
Wallace Subaru visited our Boys & Girls Club here in Bristol and donated over 200 cozy winter coats to our boys and girls! One of my most cherished memories from that day was when a little girl received a beautiful pink coat. She excitedly ran up to me and said, "Ms. Emily, look! I look like a pretty princess in my new coat! I can’t wait to show my mommy; she’ll think I look like Elsa from Frozen." I'm so grateful our kids experienced such a wonderful act of kindness. Thank you all so much!
New Coat - Lisa B.
My favorite thing that happened during our giving event with Wallace Subaru was when one member received his coat, but his mom wasn't there yet. He turned around with his coat on and saw his mom, he ran with total excitement and just kept yelling "look mom, do you see my new coat? Do you see how cool it is, can't wait to show it off at school tomorrow". I nearly cried seeing the joy on not only the members face, but the joy on his momma's face.
Subaru Retailers Team Up to Support Hurricane Relief Efforts - Jess M.
At Wallace Subaru of Bristol, we’re always ready to step up and support our communities, especially in times of crisis. This commitment is at the heart of the Subaru Love Promise®. When Hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated the Eastern region, Subaru retailers like us immediately sprang into action. Alongside other Subaru retailers, Subaru of America, and local organizations, we assessed the most urgent needs in the affected areas. It quickly became clear that local food banks were struggling to keep up with the surge in demand as they worked to support people hit hardest by the storms. In response, we teamed up with 67 Subaru retailers across the region to launch a $400,000 match campaign to aid the hurricane relief efforts of Feeding America®. Wallace Subaru of Bristol proudly contributed 2936.76 to this initiative. While the immediate impact of the storms fades from the headlines, many of our neighbors continue to face long-term challenges like food insecurity, water shortages, power outages, and limited access to essential services. Thanks to the collective generosity of Subaru retailers and the communities we serve, an additional $18,427 was raised. This brings the total impact to $418,427, or over 4,100,000 meals for those in need. "As one of the nation's largest disaster relief organizations, the Feeding America network of food banks and partner agencies is deeply rooted in communities across the country. Together, our partnership with trusted Subaru dealers has helped expedite emergency food assistance and supplies to people who need it most. We are immensely grateful," said Feeding America Chief Development Officer Casey Marsh.
Crossroads Medical Mission - Gratitude - Erin F.
Thank you, Wallace Subaru, for your steadfast support of Crossroads Medical Mission! Your commitment through the "Share the Love" campaign has been instrumental in supporting our work to provide free healthcare to people in need. Your financial contributions have been transformative for our mission. This partnership has enabled us to purchase a Subaru Ascent two years ago has been especially invaluable. When a hurricane devastated our area, the Ascent (affectionately known as "Kit Cat") became a vital resource. Its compact size and maneuverability allowed us to reach individuals in remote locations that were inaccessible by our larger mobile clinic ("Big Cat") due to challenging road conditions. We are deeply grateful for your generosity, collaboration, and the enduring support you provide through "Share the Love." Your commitment makes a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of so many.
"I saw you on TV at Wallace Subaru of Bristol!" - Cynthia R.
As I reached for the door to leave a local small business, Pam’s voice stopped me. “Wait!” she called out. “I saw you on TV during the Wallace Subaru of Bristol check presentation to Crossroads Medical Mission, and I wanted to share something with you.” Pam then shared a heartfelt story about her cousin, who had been gravely ill for a long time and was in dire condition. “He was at death’s door,” she said. “When he visited the doctors at Crossroads Medical Mission, you diagnosed him with severe diabetes.” Her voice softened and her eyes filled with tears as she added, “He told us how kind you were and how grateful he was for Crossroads. Our whole family is so thankful for what you’ve done.” Moments like this remind me of the incredible impact we can have, thanks to the generosity of Wallace Subaru of Bristol. Their support enables us to provide free medical care to individuals in need, making stories like Pam’s cousin’s story possible.
Wallace Subaru Gives School Supplies to Emmett Elementary School - Noelle H.
Wallace Subaru of Bristol came to Emmett Elementary and distrubuted school supply boxes to our classrooms and it was so helpful! Teachers have been able to assist students in need with school supplies throughout this school year!

Operation Warm at Highland View Elementary School - Uneque S.
Wallace Subaru of Bristol came to Highland View Elementary School to hand out coats to the students as well as their siblings. The kids were so happy to get a nice warm coat for winter! The families as well as the staff appreciated the generosity. Thank you so much for keeping the children warm with their beautiful new coats!
Coats For Children - Sheila R.
It was amazing being able to give out coats to all the children and siblings at our School Highland View Elementary. To See The Looks On The Children’s Faces as They Tried On and Picked Out The Coat They Wanted Made Me Feel So Good. Thank You Wallace Subaru. You Did A Amazing Job Making A Lot Of Children Happy.
Operation Warm - A L.
I recently had the pleasure to work along side of these amazing folks at Wallace Subaru. We were able to hand out of 102 brand new coats to some very deserving kids in our community. They were so organized. They had a coat in every size hanging on racks, it looked like shopping in a real store. After trying on, and finding the perfect fit, they were able to pick out whatever color they wanted. Made me realize, a coat is something simple, that many of us take for granted. The way a lot of the children lit up with a smile as bright as the sun. They were all so thankful, the parents too. By the end of the event, almost all 400 coats were handed out. Anyone who showed up and was in need received one. No questions asked. No proof of income or residency. Just needed a child's name and the size. I am happy that we have such kind and amazing folks in our area, who see there is a need, and make sure the need is met.
My loves to care blanket - Ethel R.
Thank you so much for the beautiful throw I recently received from the Abingdon Cancer Center. It will be well used and much appreciated
Blankets of love for Ballad Health Regional Cancer Center Abingdon, VA. - Amy S.
If you or a loved one has ever been diagnosed with cancer and had to have treatments, you know what a hard road that is. Multiple, appointments, chemo infusions, radiation, and more all while being tired, sick, and in pain. When getting treatments, patients sit for many hours a day some even come multiple days a week and we do all we can to make them comfortable while they are here. A warm blanket and a pillow provided at each visit for treatment help bring comfort and make patients feel more at home. On 6/20/2023 we had a visit from Teddy Testerman and Michael Smith with Wallace Subaru and the Subaru Loves to Care® Initiative. Now thanks to them, many of our patients will have their own blanket to bring with them to their appointment and use at home. While they were here, they got to meet many of our HERO’s that daily care for our patients. We have such a wonderful group of providers, nurses, pharmacists, phlebotomists, and registration staff that love and care for each of our patients. The smiles and joy on the patients’ face when we give them a blanket makes me appreciate Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® & Subaru even more! Thank you for helping us give a little joy to the ones who need a little extra some days.
When Crossroads Medical Mission rolls out their Big Cat, big things are happening. - michael s.
I've come to learn when I see Crossroads Medical Mission's Big Cat out and about, something big is going on. Their Big Cat is a large motorcoach, fully outfitted to serve as a medical clinic. When I saw it parked recently in front of Wallace Subaru of Bristol, I knew something big was happening, and was it ever! Wallace Subaru of Bristol and Crossroads are partners in the Subaru Share the Love Event®, and on this day Wallace Subaru was presenting the nonprofit with a check for $35,000. How big was that to Crossroads? They will be able to add a new fulltime staff member because of it! And that's a big deal. Our community is blessed to have a great community-minded business like Wallace Subaru of Bristol.
Counting Down the Days - Cindy R.
When Wallace Subaru of Bristol called us to schedule a “BIG” check presentation, they were not kidding! Subaru Share the Love® Event with Wallace Subaru’s commitment to Crossroads Medical Mission, has been mind-blowing! Crossroads is a clinic providing primary and urgent medical care, free of charge, via a mobile medical clinic and a free-standing clinic in Bristol, VA/TN. This year’s contribution through Subaru and Wallace Subaru of Bristol is so generous that it enables Crossroads to hire an additional health care provider. And now, we are counting down the days for our new nurse practitioner to begin. Our heart-felt thanks are extended to Subaru and Wallace Subaru of Bristol for upholding the Love Promise Community Commitment.
Numbers Don't Lie... Community Support Invaluable - Cindy R - mike s.
If you ever wonder how important community supporters are to groups like Crossroads Medical Mission think about these three numbers: 1,768, $739,301, and $1,425,00. 1,768 is the number of patient visits Crossroads Medical Mission provided in 2022. $739,301 was the cost of the 3,143 medications Crossroads Medical Mission provided in 2022. And that really big number … $1,425,00 … was the value of services provided by Crossroads Medical Mission at no charge to patients in 2022 with expenditures of $516,029. The numbers really don’t lie. Without the love and generosity of great supporters like Wallace Subaru of Bristol these numbers would be much, much smaller.
We're Singing in the Rain! - Cindy R.
Crossroads Medical Mission staff held our breath every time a heavy rain fell on our new downtown clinic. We opened our free clinic doors to help uninsured and low-income friends in the area, but soon found that heavy rains would seep into our building! Run-off from adjoining property flowed directly toward our building. Sharing our dilemma with our friends at Wallace Subaru of Bristol resulted in quite a surprise. Anticipating a heavy rainfall, friends from Wallace Subaru of Bristol surprised us with this beautiful rain barrel. It has been so helpful that we are now "singing in the rain!" Thank you, Wallace Subaru of Bristol!
The Weather Can't Stop Us Now! - Cindy R.
Crossroads Medical Mission's mobile clinic traverses the mountains of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia providing health care free of charge to folks who do not have insurance. But, when the weather gets dicey or there are predictions of bad weather, we need to leave our 43-foot mobile clinic behind and move to Plan-B. Plan-B involves taking a fully equipped vehicle to our partnership sites and setting up a temporary clinic. We need a reliable vehicle with all-wheel-drive. Because Wallace Subaru sells such a reliable product, and because they have Shared the Love with us for a very long time, Crossroads decided to purchase an Ascent to help us face the challenges thrown at us by mother nature. The staff at Wallace Subaru treated me with kindness and integrity. Crossroads now has a new vehicle to tackle the challenges thrown at us by the weather! I extend my personal thanks to everyone at Wallace Subaru!
Wallace Subaru Unlocked the Doors to Care - Cindy R.
Wallace Subaru of Bristol has been instrumental in helping Crossroads Medical Mission expand our ability to provide medical care to people in need. Until the summer of 2022, Crossroads provided care only via a mobile medical clinic. Wallace Subaru showed their love and commitment to the value that we should all have a chance to lead a healthy life when they helped us to move LOTS of used furniture into a free-standing clinic. Thanks to their commitment to Crossroads Medical Mission, the new clinic opened its doors in June 2022. Wallace helped us to unlock the doors to care in downtown Bristol! This is Jeff, the first patient to be seen at the new clinic. Now, we are able to provide care via a mobile medical clinic and a downtown clinic. Thank you Wallace Subaru for Sharing the Love!
Grateful Granny - Ada F.
Our senior girl, “Granny” was found abandoned on a desolate road, in a ditch. Upon arrival, we thought she was deceased as her near lifeless body lay there and her eyes were affixed in a stare. Granny’s tongue was hanging out, she was covered in ticks and fleas and her emaciated body was a pitiful sight. Regardless, if she was deceased, For Pete’s Sake Rescue, wanted to give her a proper burial. After all, she had given many years to someone, at some time, cared to have lived this long. Granny is a small chihuahua and to think someone abandoned her, on a desolate road, in the pouring down rain is unthinkable. However, once one of our volunteers picked her up, and held Granny close to her chest, Granny’s hanging tongue gave a faint kiss to this human. We immediately took her to our veterinarian, who gave her a complete workover, and Granny started to slowly come to life. It was a long road to recovery, but TLC goes a long way and Granny gained strength. Her new mom is amazing and she and Granny are like “two peas in a pod.” Granny is the apple of her new human’s eye, obvious by the way Granny poses for pictures now vs. the near death girl we initially rescued. It doesn’t cost a thing to give your heart and Granny is living proof that caring and sharing yourself can make a valuable difference. Thanks for your support, Subaru!
